National Drop Planning Group conducts educational retirement planning workshops each month in various cities for deferred retirement option plan participants.
NDPG's workshop entitled "Retirement Planning - A Simple Approach" and our retirement planning services is provided free to all DROP retirees.
Each workshop strives to provide plan participants with basic, unbiased and easy-to-understand information regarding the most appropriate use of their DROP, 403b, 401a and 457b Deferred Compensation Plan assets for achieving individual retirement goals.
The focus of every workshop is to identify, explain and most importantly to provide an understanding of the common tools and planning techniques that can be utilized by DROP participants to formulate a simple and secure retirement plan.
Our workshops ARE NOT sales seminars. It is our belief that a well-conceived and designed personal retirement plan will generally dictate the product solution versus a plan participant simply being sold a financial product that may or may not be an appropriate response to his/her personal retirement needs.
National DROP Planning Group is an independent retirement planning firm. Since 2005, NDPG has been serving the retirement planning needs of DROP participants in various states through its team of regional advisers.
As an independent group able to offer products and services from all companies, our regional teams provide objective and unbiased retirement planning solutions through detailed and specific financial plans tailored to the individual needs of each client.
Our retirement planning workshops are designed to address the specific and different needs of both Public Safety ("AT RISK") and civilian DROP participant employees.
Working through the National Educators Association (NEA) and various Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) lodges in various states, NDPG is confident that each workshop addresses the distinct planning needs of all attendees and provides a clear explanation of all issues related to the different tax rules that are applicable to various state and municipal employee groups.
NDPG is headquartered in Warwick, RI with dedicated regional advisers serving DROP plan participants in various states. NDPG’s client services include:
- Retirement Planning
- Wealth Management
- Estate Planning
- Insurance Planning
Mission Statement
To provide educational workshops for DROP participants on how to best achieve their individual retirement goals and objectives and to serve as an on-going resource to workshop attendees who request assistance or information whether or not they ultimately choose to become NDGP clients.“While people age 60 and older make up 15 percent of the U.S. population, they also account for about 30 percent of (investment) fraud victims, estimates Consumer Action, a consumer-advocacy group. Seniors today are bombarded with pitches for financial seminars. There are ads in the newspapers and on the radio. Cold callers, brokers, financial planners, and insurance agents are all pitching investments to seniors.”
Thousands of Deferred Retirement Option Plan (DROP) participants retire each year. To avoid becoming part of the above statistic, information is an absolute necessity in selecting appropriate financial products and services.
Attending one of our workshops will provide you with enough basic information to effectively plan and implement an appropriate DROP rollover strategy no matter which firm or adviser you ultimately choose.
“Retirement Planning – A Simple Approach” is NOT a sales seminar. The goal of each workshop is to assist attendees in understanding their various options before they submit their DROP payment form to the State Retirement System.
Each session reviews:
- Your only DROP rollover options
- How to avoid the 10% IRS penalty for early distributions
- Basic retirement planning strategies
- Key questions to ask any adviser
- Typical costs/fees for various products and services
- Actual case studies
The sooner you attend one of our workshops, the sooner you can effectively begin your retirement planning process. Remember…spouses are always encouraged to attend!
